While brew fests may be more appropriate for the current high temperatures, another kind of brewed beverage festival is on offer next month: The Roasters Rendezvous Coffee Festival in Riverton on Saturday, Sept. 8 at Central Wyoming College.
The Rendezvous is Wyoming’s first-ever festival for coffee consumers and will feature Jackson Hole-based roasters Snake River Roasting, Great Northern Coffee and Jackson Roasters, as well as several others from around the state.
Things will kick off on Friday afternoon, Sept. 7, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Bar Ten in Riverton, that will have coffee-based cocktails available. Patrons are then invited outside to enjoy the Riverton Farmer’s Market and live music.
On Saturday, in case the promise of mass quantities of caffeine isn't enough, attendees can jump start their day with a $12 Sunrise PiYo (Pilates and yoga) class by Iron Works Gym at 7 a.m. The Rendezvous starts at 8 a.m. at the Intertribal Center at Central Wyoming College, at 2660 Peck Ave., in Riverton. Tickets are $10 for regular admission to $25 for a VIP ticket.
Unlimited coffee tastings and food pairings will be offered, as well as an array of interactive workshops where people can learn everything from roasting your own coffee over an open fire with cowboy poet Jack Schmidt to how to brew your best cup of coffee at home. The event concludes at 4 p.m.
A list of interactive workshops, taught by the pros from Snake River Roasting, Brown Sugar Coffee Roastery and Skyway Roasters is below, however the workshops are available only to those who purchase a VIP ticket for $25, which includes a souvenir tasting mug in addition to access to all workshops.
