Olivia Fuller was selected as Laramie County School District 1’s Student of the Week for the week of Nov. 19.

Fuller is an eighth-grader at McCormick Junior High. She has a great work ethic, a positive attitude and a passion for learning. Fuller is an active participant in athletics, student senate and orchestra.

According to the selection committee, “She is an outstanding student who maintains a 4.0 GPA and is enrolled in all honors classes.”

Fuller spends her summers working on her grandparents’ fishing boat on Lake Erie, and each Memorial Day she volunteers to set out and pick up flags at Bethel Cemetery to honor the fallen.

“Her teachers describe her as having a great work ethic, positive attitude and a passion for learning,” members of the selection committee said. “She is an outstanding student leader who is always willing to help her peers.”

Fuller explained that, to her, receiving this award “means that I’m doing a good job and people are noticing.”
